Sandy is a former Assistant General Counsel for the National Science Foundation. She has always been committed to protecting the environment and preserving wild places. She previously worked for the Environmental Defense Fund and The Nature Conservancy, and has done volunteer work for several conservation and environmental organizations, including the Natural Resources Council of Maine, the Sierra Club, and Defenders of Wildlife. Her “happy place” is hiking a trail with her dog or kayaking on Moosehead Lake.
